We didn’t talk a lot about genealogy stuff a lot when I was a kid. Both of my parents had experiences as kids that they didn’t like to talk about and I think that relates to them not wanting to talk about the past. I remember doing a family tree and it was hard to get information from my parents. They didn’t seem to know anybody’s real nationality. The only thing we have to go one is names. My grandpa on my mom’s side, his last name was McGregor so probably Scottish. But you know, names change. My dad’s last name tends to be Irish. Putting together that family tree, I remember so-and-so was from Germany and so-and-so was from Poland or something like that so I don’t have a good picture of where those things come from. Or whether those things are accurate or not. – Jeff
